Tammy Slaton has been keeping a secret when it comes to her love life.
The 1000-Lbs. Sisters star shares in an upcoming episode of the TLC docuseries that she has been dating someone new following the 2023 death of her husband Caleb Willingham at age 40.
“I have been seeing someone for the past couple months and it’s going pretty well,” Tammy says during her confessional in a preview, released April 11, of the series’ upcoming seventh season. “The person I’m dating is a woman.”
The 38-year-old said she wants to approach her new relationship differently than her past ones and signaled that her loved ones may express judgement.
“So I haven’t told my family because my family’s gonna have something to say about it,” she added. “I think my family probably has more opinions than the world has a–holes because they be farting so much.”
The influencer added, “I don’t know how my family’s gonna react when I tell them I’m seeing a woman.”
Tammy—who has chronicled her 500-pound weight loss on her show and on social media—has spoken about her sexuality before. On a 2021 episode of 1000-Lbs. Sisters, she told her boyfriend at the time, Jerry, that she is pansexual and “would date anybody, whether they’re transgender, straight, gay.”
Then in January 2024, months after Caleb died, Tammy shared an update about her dating preferences. “I was saying I was pansexual, but I kinda stopped messing with guys after my husband passed,” she said in a TikTok video. “So, I’m like a lesbian.”
Responding to a fan, Tammy noted she was “not trans” but was “just a supporter of everybody.”
“Love is love,” she added. “Everybody deserves love whether they’re gay, straight, trans, pan, bi, nonbinary, whatever. I’m just a lover.”
The season seven premiere of 1000-Lb. Sisters airs April 15 at 9pm on TLC.
