Watch:Exclusive: Hilaria Baldwin Shares Alec Baldwin’s Struggle With Asking for Help

Alec Baldwin’s children may run Kabletown some day.

The 30 Rock alum—who shares kids Carmen, 11, Rafael, 9, Leonardo, 8, Romeo, 6, Eduardo, 4, María Lucía, 4, and Ilaria, 2, with wife Hilaria Baldwin—recently revealed that his youngsters are “already renegotiating their contract” after the premiere of their reality show The Baldwins.

“They want more money,” Alec told People in an interview published March 12. “They want a lot more money, so we’ll see what happens.”

And though the 66-year-old—who also shares daughter Ireland, 29, with ex-wife Kim Basinger—may have been joking about his kids’ business prowess, he is serious when it comes to how much they have enjoyed the TLC series.

“The kids have fun, the kids are happy,” he continued. “It’s not like we’re staging anything or faking. [They] have friends and go to play dates and this and that, but they would rather stay home with each other.”

He even insisted they’re “like a pack,” adding, “They’re very close and they want to just be with each other, so this representation is pretty authentic about how we live our lives.”

In fact, the It’s Complicated star thinks the TV show, which began filming a month before his July 2024 court trial for the accidental shooting death of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, captures his family life perfectly. (The involuntary manslaughter case was ultimately dismissed with prejudice mid-trial after Baldwin’s legal team accused prosecutors of withholding evidence.)

“When I think of the reality show,” Alec explained, “many things occur to me after the fact like when we were doing it, it was a bit of a unique time for us, but afterward when we did it, I realized that that’s who we are.”

As for how the Oscar nominee feels about the chaos of having seven young children? He laughs it off with his wife.

“I always joke with [Hilaria],” Alec told Peoplelast month, “and say, ‘You know where I should be right now, don’t you? We should be on Geffen’s yacht, drinking a cappuccino and reading a book, and having dinner with Spielberg or whatever.’”

But on a serious note, he added, “This is my reality. I wouldn’t change anything.”

Read on for a look back at Alec and Hilaria’s love story and their road to becoming parents of seven kids.

Summer Lovin’

Alec Baldwin told the New York Times he gave his future wife, then Hilaria Thomas, his number upon meeting her at Pure Food and Wine in New York in February 2011. The two played phone tag until they finally arranged a time to meet for dinner.

That August they enjoyed their first US Open together, one of Alec’s favorite events.

Black Tie Date Night

Alec looked into his future and saw Hilaria at the 10th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation’s “An Enduring Vision” benefit at Cipriani Wall Street in October 2011. They moved in together the following month.

Swept Away

Hilaria accompanied Alec to the Cannes Film Festival in 2012. “I’ve dated a lot of people since my divorce, and have thought a lot about what I wanted and what I wanted to do,” he said. “I thought about it too much, I suppose. I wasn’t really ready to take that chance and to act until I met Hilaria.”

He Put a Ring On It!

In April 2012, Alec’s rep confirmed to E! News that he and Hilaria were engaged.

Daughter-Approved!

Hilaria and Ireland Baldwin frequently tweet about their friendship. Ireland joked on the social networking site she was going to serve as a “flower girl” in the wedding, but actually was a bridesmaid.

They Do!

On June 30, 2012, the happy couple tied the knot in front of family and friends at the Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral in Manhattan. The bride wore a silk magnolia trumpet Amsale gown and the groom donned a tux from Tom Ford.
