The 2025 Oscars wasn’t the only major event in Los Angeles March 2.
Just a few hours after the ceremony ended and the after-parties were kicking into high gear, a 3.9-magnitude earthquake hit greater Los Angeles. The earthquake struck around 10:13 p.m. local time, extending about 1.3 miles across North Hollywood, Universal City and Studio City, according to a report from the United States Geological Survey.
However, the Los Angeles Fire Department shared on X following the event that they were “not entering earthquake mode,” and no injuries or damages were reported to local authorities immediately.
The 2025 Oscars hosted by Conan O’Brien in the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles was located 10 miles from where the earthquake was felt. Of course, the earthquake comes nearly two months after the area was rocked by devastating wildfires.
And in his opening monologue, Conan took a moment to acknowledge the L.A. Fires and those both in front of and behind the camera who have “been through a devastating ordeal.”
“Any award show can seem self-indulgent and superfluous, but what I want to do is have us all remember why we gathered here tonight,” he explained. “Okay, yes, we will honor many beautiful and talented A-list stars. The Oscars also shines a light on an incredible community of people you will never see: craftspeople, artisans, technicians, men and women behind the camera, who have devoted their lives to making films. Many people we celebrate tonight are not famous, they’re not wealthy, but they are devoted to a craft they can, in moments, bring us all together.”
During the ceremony itself, Anora, directed by Sean Baker, swept the awards ceremony, securing statuettes for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Editing and Best Actress for Mikey Madison’s portrayal of Ani.
The star-studded ceremony also saw wins for Best Actor Adrien Brody, Best Supporting Actress Zoe Saldaña and Best Supporting Actor Kieran Culkin.
However, the night didn’t end when stars exited the Dolby Theatre—with many going on to a celebrate at the many after-parties. Keep reading to see all the stars who stepped out on the red carpet at the after-parties.
