Andrew Garfield had everyone’s spidey senses tingling after the 2025 Oscars.
The actor, who attended the 97th Academy Awards as a presenter, further fueled rumors of a romance with Best Supporting Actress nominee Monica Barbaro as the two were seen leaving the Vanity Fair Oscars Party together.
After the March 2 ceremony held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, Andrew—who wore a classic black tuxedo—appeared alongside Monica, who dazzled in a strapless beaded Dolce & Gabbana gown. The actress was nominated for her performance along with Timothée Chalamet in the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, which earned a total of eight nods at this year’s festivities.
Prior to the Oscars, the pair sparked dating speculation with another awards season excursion. On the eve of the 2025 Golden Globes in January, Andrew, 41, wrapped his arm around Monica, 34, as they posed in a group photo during a W Magazine party at Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood.
And in February, the duo created more chatter as they attended a performance of Jonathan Bailey’s play Richard II in London’s West End. In a video posted on X (former Twitter), Andrew and Monica—both dressed casually in sweaters and ball caps—appeared to chat as the theatre lights went down.
But while the string of public outings has gotten people talking, Andrew—who previously dated Emma Stone and was most recently linked to Kate Tomas—has made it clear he’s not interested in sharing details about his life offscreen.
“I’m not in the public eye to a great degree because I’ve designed it that way for myself,” he told Bustle in 2021. “For my work, I’m fine with it, but otherwise I fight for my right for a private, personal life.”
More recently, the We Live In Time actor doubled down on his stance.
“I have never, and I won’t ever, speak about or confirm or deny anything about my personal life with anyone,” he told Esquire in October. “Ever.”
