SAG Awards 2025: How Colin Farrell Reacted After Jamie Lee Curtis Accused Him of Giving Her COVID

Colin Farrell‘s 2025 SAG Awards win was possibly everything everywhere all at once.

After all, Jamie Lee Curtis jokingly called him out onstage at the Feb. 23 ceremony, telling the crowd that the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series “goes to the man who gave me COVID at the Golden Globes, Colin Farrell.”

And the Penguin star—who beat out nominees Monster‘s Javier Bardem, Baby Reindeer‘s Richard Gadd, Disclaimer‘s Kevin Kline and Ripley‘s Andrew Scott for the prize—didn’t deny the cheeky accusation, either. (Click here to see all the celebrites on the red carpet.)

“Guilty as charged,” Colin said, before quipping that The Banshee of Inisherin costar Brendan Gleeson “f–king gave it to me, so I was just spreading the love.”

But that wasn’t his only LOL-worthy moment onstage. Elsewhere in his acceptance speech, Colin became visibly starstruck seeing John Lithgow in the audience.

“It’s so weird,” he said. “So many of you I grew up watching on television film. Hey, John Lithgow.”

And when it was time to wrap up his speech, the Irish star made it clear that he had plenty more to say.

“‘Please shut up, Farrell,'” he joked while pointing to the teleprompter, before thanking his family. “I have to thank my sister, who I’ve worked with for 22 years. I never thank her publicly.”

After giving a sweet shoutout to Claudine Farrell, as well as siblings Catherine Farrell and Eamonn Farrell, Colin ended his speech with a special nod to his family’s youngest members.

Addressing sons James Farrell, 21, and Henry Farrell, 15, as “two people in my life who have made my life so much more special and so much more meaningful and so much more joyful than I ever truly thought possible,” Colin added, “I love you both—and we’re going back to watch Shogun tonight and finish it up.”
