Khloe Kardashian cannot keep up with rumors about her relationship with ex Tristan Thompson.
That’s why she was hesitant to join kids True Thompson, 6, and Tatum Thompson, 2, at a Cleveland Cavaliers game last year to watch the NBA star play, fearing that her appearance on the sidelines would fuel speculation she was there to “support her man.”
“I did have a lot of anxiety about going—more for the public’s reaction, which is so lame to say,” Khloe admitted in a confessional during the Feb. 20 episode of The Kardashians. “My family, my circle, they know that Tristan and I, we’re not together, but it’s sad that I had a lot of anxiety because of outside noise.”
Ultimately, the 40-year-old said “f–k this, I’m doing this for my kids” and brought her daughter and son to the game.
“It was such a great experience for my kids,” Khloe shared. “They were so happy.”
She added that True, in particular, “had the time of her life.”
“She’s old enough. She gets it. She is so proud,” Khloe raved of her oldest. “She was so excited to see her dad play and to be in that atmosphere.”
But the Good American co-founder’s concerns were somewhat warranted. After all, her friendliness toward Tristan has previously been misconstrued as flirting. In 2020, reconciliation rumors sparked after Khloe captioned an Instagram photo of True, “The only thing I need you to remember is how much your daddy and I love you!”
After fans began theorizing that Khloe was back with Tristan, she set the record straight and clarified in the comments section, “It means her parents love her beyond measure.”
And in May 2023, Khloe had to shut down the “tiring” gossip about her and Tristan once again.
“I suppose you guys will continue the narrative you want regardless of what I say so what’s the point,” she wrote on Instagram in response to a blind item about the former couple. “It’s exhausting but I learned people will only understand to the level of their own perception.”
Khloe continued, “Most are stuck at believing the lies because it’s the narrative they want to fuel.”
