After turning her life upside down, Millie Bobby Brown is livin’ on a farm with the man she loves.
Months before she wrapped production on Netflix’s Stranger Things after five seasons, she began sharing videos of her rural life with husband Jake Bongiovi. But although Millie, 20, and the 22-year-old son of Jon Bon Jovi live on a farm in Georgia, don’t call the actress a “trad wife.”
“I’m not doing it for the aesthetic,” Millie told Vanity Fair in a March 2025 cover interview released Feb. 12. “I’m doing it because I love it. There are maybe some trad wives out there doing it because it seems wholesome, but it is not. If you’re not picking up horse s–t or washing a cow with your bare hands, then that life is not made for you. At all.”
In addition to horses, Millie and Jake house many other animals on their farm, including cows, sheep, goats, cows and donkeys, plus dogs the Enola Holmes actress has rescued from local kill shelters.
“You think animals are peaceful,” said Millie, who launched her animal rescue group Joey’s Friends in 2022. “You think the South is peaceful. You think this place is peaceful. But there’s so much chaos.”
She continued, “My animals are loud, and it’s messy and my dogs are crazy. And there is, you know, laughter and a lot of passion and excitement, and it is a very vibrant place. There is so much chaos, and that is where I thrive.”

Millie, who married Jake in two wedding ceremonies last year, shared some insight into her social life, which includes meeting up with her Stranger Things costar Noah Schnapp in New York, along with her husband.

Born in Spain to British parents and raised partially in their native United Kingdom as well as the United States, Millie was about 9 when she made her onscreen acting debut as young Alice in the Disney-inspired spinoff series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland and, coincidentally, 11 years old when she began playing her breakout role of Eleven on Stranger Things.
“I never wanted to be famous,” she said. “That was never my thing. I just love acting.”
