Did you catch Patrick Mahomes’ look ahead of Super Bowl 2025?
Hours before the big game on Feb. 9, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback stepped out in a suit that appeared to be in a Philadelphia Eagles shade of green.
And social media users didn’t fumble the opportunity to share their reactions online.
“Pat trolling the Eagles,” one follower wrote on X, “already wearing the Eagles color suit.”
Added another, “Not Patrick Mahomes wearing an Eagles green suit…” Chimed in a third, “Eagles green?! Patrick Lavon Mahomes in the house!”
But before fans take this idea too far down the field, they should know that Patrick has expressed his love for the hue before.
“My favorite color’s green,” he said during a Feb. 3 press conference. “Green, you know, and that’s always been my favorite color. Saint Patrick’s Day—it worked perfectly.”
Of course, Patrick changed into his red jersey for the Chiefs’ game against the Eagles at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome. He and his teammates are looking to make history and become the first team in the NFL to win three Super Bowls in a row. The Chiefs took home the Vince Lombardi trophy in 2024 and 2023—bringing their overall Super Bowl total to four when adding in their 2020 and 1970 victories.
However, the Eagles are looking to win their second-ever Super Bowl—with them being named the champions in 2018. This marks a rematch for the Philly team as they played against the Chiefs at the 2023 Super Bowl but lost with a final score of 35 to 38.
While Patrick acknowledges a three-peat won’t be easy, he also has another three on his mind: his daughter Sterling Skye Mahomes, 3; son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, 2; and baby girl Golden Raye Mahomes, almost a month old, with wife Brittany Mahomes.
“Being a new dad of three is not easy,” the two-time MVP told People Feb. 3. “I have a lot of help, so that’s helping me out right now. But after the Super Bowl, I’m all hands on deck. So, it’s going ot be dad time, and I’m going to be playing defense versus those two older ones. So, we’re gonna see how it goes. But three-peat is not easy, either. But being a dad of three, I know that’s gonna be a challenge.”
