Taco Bell is taking you back in time.
The fast food chain is tapping into 2000s nostalgia with its brand new Y2K menu, which sees the return of five Taco Bell favorites: the Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos, the Double Decker Taco, the 7-Layer Burrito, the Chili Cheese Burrito and the Caramel Apple Empanada.
The menu items will be available nationwide starting Sept. 9. And best of all? All the classic eats come with a price tag of $3 or less.
The chain is also celebrating 20 years of the Crunchwrap Supreme with the new $9 Discovery Luxe Cravings Box that includes several fan faves including the Crunchwrap, Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos, a crunchy taco, chips and nacho cheese and a medium drink.
But Taco Bell isn’t just leaning into food when it comes to the Y2K nostalgia, as it is also releasing three, limited-edition time capsule merch drops, available weekly from Sept. 2 to Sept. 16. These include a blinged out Ed Hardy hat, a Y2K-inspired digital watch and a vintage-style Y2K t-shirt.
For those feeling the Tamagotchi spirit, Taco Bell is also introducing Crunchkin, a digital pet inspired by their menu, that you care for and feed through their app. As Crunchkin grows, it also gives you access to special rewards. And the chain is thrilled about the flashback celebrations.
“No one did the 2000s like Taco Bell,” the company’s Chief Marketing Officer TaylorMontgomery said in an Aug. 28 statement. “Fans have never stopped asking for these items, and honestly, we’ve missed them too. But Decades Y2K isn’t just about the menu. It’s about reliving the flavors, the fashion, and the fun that made that moment in time unforgettable—and letting our fans be the first to live it all over again.”
And the fans were definitely excited about the chance to savor some of their favorite foods after all these years.
“This pleases me,” one user wrote on X,while another added, “Camping out for the double decker tacos.”
