Kate Middleton’s latest look is good as gold.
The Princess of Wales donned an all-gold ensemble as she arrived at Windsor Castle with her husband Prince William Sept. 17, where King Charles III and Queen Camilla hosted a state banquet for President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
Crafted by British designer Phillippa Lepley, the silk couture gown featured an evening coat with gold lace detailing and hand-embroidered roses, as well as French knots and satin-stitched blooms.
To top off her outfit, Kate, 43, wore the iconic Lover’s Knot tiara, a known favorite of her late mother-in-law Princess Diana. The stunning headpiece, which features 19 arches and 28 drop-shaped pearls, is believed to have been created in 1914 for Queen Mary and was eventually passed down to Queen Elizabeth II, according to Town & Country magazine.
As for William, the 43-year-old attended the royal affair wearing a black Windsor tailcoat with red accents and gold buttons over a white shirt and white tie. The heir apparent to the British throne completed his wardrobe with a large blue sash and several miniature medals on his lapel.
In a post on their shared Instagram account, the couple—who share Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7—posed for a photo in their formalwear with the caption, “Ready for The State Banquet.”
Kate previously wore the Lover’s Knot tiara in July when the royal family hosted French president Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron for their own state banquet, marking her first time wearing a tiara in nearly two years. She put on the sparkler to help welcome diplomats to an event at Buckingham Palace in December 2023.
Throughout her royal tenure, Kate has turned heads in other notable tiaras as well, including the Cartier halo tiara she wore for her wedding in April 2011. She also wore the rarely-seen Strathmore Rose tiara, which had not been worn publicly since the 1930s, in November 2023.
