Are Robach and Holmes Really Returning to Morning TV?

In the ever-spinning carousel of morning-show musical chairs, here’s a pairing no one expected to see circling back: Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes. The former GMA3 co-hosts were famously shown the door at ABC in 2023 after their off-camera romance became very on-camera tabloid fodder — and, yes, both were still married at the time.

Now comes a whisper from a very high-level source at CBS: Network honchos at The Eye were supposedly briefly kicking around the idea of bringing the duo back to TV for a new morning show on their airwaves.

Everyone involved is vigorously denying it — CBS publicists, Robach, Holmes — but it’s hard to dismiss the rumor as pure fantasy. Plus, it tracks with reports that CBS’ new editor-in-chief, Bari Weiss, has been quietly reaching out to talent on her own — and a pair of previously canceled, scandal-scorched anchors sound like something that might tickle her editorial fancy.

Whether the rebooted couple would even consider coming back to TV if such an offer were ever to be made is another question. Robach and Holmes now co-host a podcast together and appear to be leaning in to their post-morning-show life as a package deal. And in an only-in-daytime-TV twist, their abandoned spouses seem to be forming their own buddy dramedy: Robach’s ex, actor Andrew Shue, is now dating Holmes’ ex-wife, attorney Marilee Fiebig.

So will America’s most infamous breakfast-hour lovebirds ever get another shot at waking up the nation? Officially, absolutely not. Unofficially … stay tuned.
