Streaming Ratings: ‘Frankenstein’ Unbound With Big Opening on Netflix

Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein came to life with a strong opening weekend on Netflix.

The film starring Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi topped Nielsen’s streaming charts for the week of Nov. 3-9 with 1.26 billion minutes of viewing in the United States. Frankenstein debuted on the streamer on Nov. 7 after a short theatrical run and amassed the highest weekly viewing tally for a movie on the Nielsen charts since Happy Gilmore 2 in early August.

Also on the movie charts, The Fantastic Four: First Steps had its streaming premiere on Disney+ on Nov. 5 and racked up 556 million minutes.

The Witcher finished second overall for a second consecutive week, improving by about 13 percent to 945 million viewing minutes. Stranger Things jumped nearly 84 percent week to week to 921 million minutes as anticipation of the show’s final season continued to build.

Peacock’s All Her Fault, starring Sarah Snook, had the best series debut of the week with 452 million minutes of watch time. It finished seventh among original series. Squid Game: The Challenge (396 million minutes), whose second season premiered Nov. 4, returned to the originals chart in ninth place, just ahead of and Netflix’s miniseries Death by Lightning (392 million). HBO’s IT: Welcome to Derry fell out of the rankings a week after a solid debut.

Nielsen’s streaming ratings cover viewing on TV sets only and don’t include minutes watched on computers or mobile devices. The ratings only measure U.S. audiences, not those in other countries. The top streaming titles for Nov. 3-9, 2025, are below.
