Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady Set New Video Podcast Series ‘Cousins’ (Exclusive)

Who wouldn’t want Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady on their team?

Sinclair’s AMP Sports is launching a new weekly video podcast series, Cousins, hosted by the pair of NBA legends, former teammates, and yes, cousins. VC and T-Mac played together for a pair of exciting seasons on the Toronto Raptors; it was just a few years earlier when the guys found out at a family reunion that they were second cousins once removed. Total Vinsanity, I know.

Tipping off Sunday, Jan. 28, Cousins will “analyze the latest games, share untold nostalgic stories, and speak with guests at the intersection of basketball and culture,” AMP Sports says. Cousins joins the AMP Sports lineup that already includes The Triple Option, Post Moves, Throwbacks and Unfiltered Soccer.

“Vince and Tracy are two of the most influential players of their era and their connection to fans has only strengthened over time. Their bond as cousins and NBA icons is well known, but this podcast gives fans a never-before-seen look at their relationship and what’s shaped them, on and off the court. The AMP team cannot wait for audiences to experience the new stories, insights, and authentic perspectives that only this duo can bring,” said Rich Cooke, AMP’s vice president of audio programming.

“Tracy and I have seen this game from every angle, as players, as family, and as fans of the current era. With ‘Cousins,’ we get to give fans the real stories behind the highlights they’ve watched a million times and the defining moments that shaped our careers, while also breaking down today’s game,” Carter said.

“This isn’t your typical podcast. It’s up-close, personal conversations between two players who helped shape one of the most electric eras in basketball, and AMP Sports is giving us the space to pull back the curtain and bring fans into our world for the first time,” McGrady added.

Combined, Carter and McGrady have 15 NBA All-Star Game selections across 37 seasons — the guys together have scored more than 45,000 points. Carter, the 1999 NBA Rookie of the Year, won gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and McGrady led the NBA in scoring twice; both men are in the Hall of Fame. Don’t challenge that family to a little two on two.
