Lewis Pullman is ready for a cold one in more ways than one.
The actor hits the slopes in Michelob Ultra’s forthcoming Super Bowl LX commercial, as seen in a teaser that is exclusive to The Hollywood Reporter. F1 filmmaker Joseph Kosinski, who directed Pullman in 2022’s smash hit Top Gun: Maverick, helmed the ad that features the actor in his Super Bowl commercial debut.
In the preview footage, Pullman stars as Greg, a novice skier who finds himself picking up the tab for his friends after they order a round of Michelob Ultras at a ski chalet. “Who needs a credit card when you’ve got a Greg?” quips one of his buddies.
Suddenly, a mysterious individual can be heard in voiceover and appears to offer some support to the beleaguered Greg. “Tired of always buying the Ultras, Gregory?” asks the unseen person. The identity of this secret mentor will soon be revealed when the full commercial debuts.
“I play Gregory, and it’s one of my greatest roles to date,” jokes Pullman during an interview about the ad. “I play the mentee to the instructor.”
Pullman says he’s grateful to be making his Super Bowl ad debut with Michelob Ultra, which he calls “one of my favorite beers in the whole world. It’s exciting, and then add in that it’s with Joe Kosinski — director of Top Gun: Maverick, who I worked with before — with an incredible script that is actually very meaningful and a beautiful little short film. I’m on cloud nine.”
A previously released teaser from the beer commercial featured Olympic gold medalist Chloe Kim and Olympian and Stanley Cup champion T.J. Oshie watching as Greg attempts a breathtaking ski jump. The forthcoming ad from Wieden+Kennedy New York continues Michelob Ultra’s campaign celebrating Team USA and the spirit of friendly competition.
This is a busy time for Pullman, who appeared in last year’s features Thunderbolts* and The Testament of Ann Lee. The actor joined Danielle Brooks to announce the 2026 Oscar nominations Thursday, and he can be seen later this year in Wishful Thinking, which premieres at SXSW, along with Netflix’s Remarkably Bright Creatures and Disney’s Avengers: Doomsday.
