‘Rental Family’ Director Hikari, Bae Doona, ‘Zone of Interest’ Producer Set for Berlin Jury

South Korean actor Bae Doona, Polish producer Ewa Puszczyńska, and American director Reinaldo Marcus Green are among the high-profile industry figures named to the international jury for the 2026 Berlin International Film Festival.

The group, which also includes Nepali filmmaker Min Bahadur Bham, Japanese director Hikari, and Indian archivist Shivendra Singh Dungarpur, joins jury president Wim Wenders to decide the winners of the Gold and Silver Bears for the 76th Berlinale, which runs Feb. 12-22.

Bae Doona arrives in Berlin as one of South Korea’s most versatile stars, known for her collaborations with Bong Joon-ho on Barking Dogs Never Bite and The Host, as well as international work in Cloud Atlas and Netflix feature Rebel Moon. She is slated to appear in the 2026 sci-fi comedy Alpha Gang.

Puszczyńska, an Academy Award-winning producer, brings a resume that includes Paweł Pawlikowski’s Ida and Cold War, alongside recent Oscar winners The Zone of Interest and A Real Pain. She has been a fixture in the Polish industry for decades, having joined Opus Film in 1995.

Director Reinaldo Marcus Green, who broke out with Monsters and Men, joins the panel following the global success of Bob Marley: One Love and the Oscar-nominated King Richard. He is currently developing a biopic on Tiger Woods. Director Hikari returns to Berlin, where her debut 37 Seconds won the Panorama Audience Award in 2019. Her most recent feature, the Brendan Fraser-starrer Rental Family, premiered in Toronto.

The jury is rounded out by Min Bahadur Bham, whose film Shambhala was the first Nepali title to compete for the Golden Bear in 2024, and Shivendra Singh Dungarpur, the founder of India’s Film Heritage Foundation. Dungarpur, a celebrated archivist and director of Celluloid Man, was honored in 2025 for his contributions to safeguarding global cinema heritage.

The 2026 Berlinale jury will unveil this year’s winners at a gala ceremony in Berlin on Feb. 21.
