Netflix is keeping The Lincoln Lawyer on retainer for another season.

A week ahead of the show’s season four premiere, Netflix has renewed The Lincoln Lawyer for a fifth installment. The drama based on Michael Connelly’s novels stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Los Angeles attorney Mickey Haller.

“We’re so excited to share the upcoming fourth season with the audience on Feb. 5, and even more excited to share the news that we’re already hard at work on the next one,” co-showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez said in a statement. “Season four is the most challenging and intensely personal journey we’ve taken Mickey Haller on yet, and we’re thrilled and grateful to be able to continue the ride in season five.”

Season four of the show is based on Connelly’s book The Law of Innocence, the fifth volume in his Mickey Haller series. It will pick up from the end of season three, when the body of a former client, Sam Scales, was discovered in the trunk of Mickey’s Lincoln. He decides to defend himself when he is charged with Scales’ murder.

Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, Angus Sampson, Neve Campbell and Elliott Gould reprise their roles in season four. Constance Zimmer plays the prosecutor trying Mickey’s case.

The Lincoln Lawyer has been a consistently strong performer for Netflix. The show was the No. 4 original streaming series in the United States in 2024, according to Nielsen (season three premiered in October of that year), racking up more than 12 billion minutes of viewing time.

A+E Studios produces The Lincoln Lawyer. David E. Kelley created the series for television, and Humphrey developed it. Humphrey and Rodriguez are co-showrunners and executive produce with Kelley, Connelly, Ross Fineman, Barry Jossen, Tana Jamieson and Matthew J. Lieberman.
