Appropriately, Jenna Ortega‘s gown for her appearance at the Emmys 2025 Sept. 14 arrived in a box shaped much like a coffin, style guru Zanna Roberts Rassi revealed during Live From E!: 2025 Emmys.
“It is made of extra-large jewels and not much else,” Rassi detailed of the skin-baring Givenchy by Sarah Burton that involved some “very precariously taped tape.”
Of course, the Wednesday lead isn’t the only star that slayed on the red carpet outside the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live.
“I feel really good, honestly,” Dying for Sex star Jenny Slate (up for Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series) told E! of her romantic Rosie Assoulin. “It’s rare to be able to say that and really mean it. But I love the cut, I feel really pretty.”
Similarly, Chloë Sevigny killed, going for “old Hollywood glamour” with her Saint Laurent, Quinta Brunson told E! she was “very, very excited about” her Louis Vuitton look and Cristin Milioti raved her custom-made Danielle Frankel dress felt very her, “but also a bit” like Sofia Falcone, her character on The Penguin, that earned her a nod in the Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie category.
Chase Sui Wonders, meanwhile, was just fighting for her life.
It wasn’t so much that The Studio star was holding her breath as she waited to see if the Apple TV+ comedy would collect any of the five awards they were up for (see all the winners here), it’s just her Thom Browne gown was giving new meaning to curve-hugging.
“I can’t quite breathe, yeah, the intestines have rearranged,” she joked to E!. “There are sounds that I’m unfamiliar with happening. But happy to be here.”
So, perhaps, Hacks star Megan Stalter was smart to choose a ‘fit that was comfy AF.
“It’s Hanes! And Levi’s!” she raved to Heather McMahan of her classic jeans-and-a-tee combo. “We need to bring jeans back on the red carpet.”
Shrinking lead Jason Segel also knew precisely what he wanted to bring to the carpet outside the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles.
As the Lead Actor in a Comedy Series nominee told E! of selecting his own look, “I had said last year that I’m ready, finally, to have a sassy tux.”
The White Lotus‘ Walton Goggins was also thrilled to be checking in, covered in head-to-toe Louis Vuitton.
Asked about the past year of his life, which includes a nod for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series thanks to his work on the must-watch drama, he told E!, “I don’t think anyone’s having more fun.”
Don’t tell that to Justine Lupe, though, the actress also nominated for Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series thanks to her part in the equally buzzy Nobody Wants This.
Before attending the show, she found precisely what she desired during fashion week.
“I had my eye on this dress since I saw it on the runway,” she told E! of the metallic Carolina Herrera, “and I’m just to grateful to wear it today.”
She and Goggins are among the small screen favorites waiting to hear if their names will be called as Sydney Sweeney, Tina Fey and Sterling K. Brown take on presenting duties for the show airing on CBS and Paramout+.
Most likely to be climbing up and down the stage steps at the Nate Bargatze-hosted ceremony are the stars of Severance. The gripping psychological thriller earned a leading 27 nominations in total.
The Penguin followed with 24 nods and both The White Lotus and The Studio picked up 23 apiece, including acting nominations for Kathryn Hahn, Catherine O’Hara, Seth Rogan, Sam Rockwell, Carrie Coon, Parker Posey, Natasha Rothwell and Aimee Lou Wood.
