What If Jurassic Park Worked Out Great? Comcast Xfinity’s Super Bowl Ad Takes a Guess

What if Jurassic Park weren’t a dinosaur-fueled disaster? What if … everything worked out great?

Comcast Xfinity’s 2026 Super Bowl ad tackles that question head-on, reuniting the cast of the original 1994 film (albeit digitally de-aged) in a subversive commercial directed by Taika Waititi.

The spot, titled “Jurassic Park… Works” sees paleontologists Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), as well as mathematician Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) enjoying the splendor of Jurassic Park, after an Xfinity tech quickly gets it back online, averting the crisis that instigated the original film.

“That could have been bad,” Dern quips in the spot.

The spot also features John Williams’ original score and visual effects from Industrial Light & Magic, which was the VFX house behind the classic film.

And it is also a textbook example of corporate synergies at work: Comcast is the owner of NBCUniversal, which owns NBC, which is broadcasting this year’s Super Bowl. Jurassic Park, meanwhile, is a Universal Pictures franchise.

“Bringing Jurassic Park back to life for this campaign has been an extraordinary collaboration across Comcast NBCUniversal,” said David O’Connor, chief brand officer, Universal Entertainment. “For more than three decades, the franchise has captured the imagination of audiences around the world, and this partnership with Xfinity allows fans to experience that world in a completely fresh way. By combining the timeless characters and iconic moments of the original film with modern technology, we’re celebrating the legacy of Jurassic Park while introducing it to a new generation. It’s a testament to the enduring power of the franchise and the kind of creative, cross-company storytelling that only NBCUniversal can deliver.”

To that end, the company will also have a number of Jurassic Park activations around the San Francisco Bay Area, including dinosaur projects on the historic Hobart Building, bringing some of the Jurassic Park off-roaders to the city for Lyft rides and having Universal Orlando Resort’s baby velociraptor Tango roam the city with a ranger.
