Jonah Hill, who has largely been on a Hollywood hiatus in recent years, is back both in front of and behind the camera for the new Apple original film Outcome.
Apple TV unveiled the first-look images from the upcoming dark comedy — starring Hill alongside Keanu Reeves, Cameron Diaz and Matt Bomer — at its press day in Santa Monica on Tuesday. The movie will premiere on the streamer April 10.
Outcome follows Reef Hawk (Reeves), a beloved Hollywood star who must dive into the depths of his hidden demons after he is extorted with a mysterious video that’s sure to shatter his image and end his career. With the support of his lifelong friends Kyle (Diaz) and Xander (Bomer), along with his crisis lawyer Ira (Hill), Reef embarks on a soul-searching journey to make amends with anyone he could have possibly wronged in hopes of identifying the blackmailer.

The ensemble cast also includes Martin Scorsese, Susan Lucci, Laverne Cox, David Spade, Atsuko Okatsuka, Roy Wood Jr., Kaia Gerber and Ivy Wolk.
Hill directed and co-wrote the project with Eza Woods, his third film after previously directing 2018’s Mid90s and 2022 documentary Stutz. His last two on-camera appearances go back to 2023’s You People and 2021’s Don’t Look Up.
The film also marks a continued return to the big screen for Cameron Diaz, who took a decade away from acting before starring in Netflix’s Back in Action last year.
During the press day, Hill said that the film is “a metaphor for what we all go through living on social media. Social media has made us obsessed what people we don’t know think of us, instead of caring about what the people who know us best think of us.”
