Kylan Darnell is hitting the like button on her plans for her future.
The University of Alabama student—best known for her sorority rush videos on social media—teased what’s next for her after she graduates with the class of 2026, and it’s safe to say that she’s looking forward to post-college life.
“I will be moving on in the entertainment space,” Kylan told E! News in an exclusive interview, adding that she will be moving on from her hometown. “I will not be staying in Ohio.”
The 21-year-old isn’t sure what state she will be located in, but she does have one idea of where she’d like to reside following her senior year.
“I would love to live in Texas just because everything’s better in Texas,” Kylan shared. “I love the whole rhinestone cowboy boots situation. I feel like I would be very cute in Texas.”
One thing the TikToker—who is currently majoring in sports broadcasting and who has already collaborated on social media content with ESPN, NASCAR and MLS soccer—is positive about? Having a job lined up after graduation. And though she can’t reveal the gig just yet, she teased it’s her “dream job” and will help her pursue her goal of carving out space for young women in sports media.
“I’ve always wanted to do something like it,” she said. “I’m so excited to start it and it’s going to be so much fun.”
And Kylan may be saying “hello” to an exciting new chapter soon, but she’s also recently said goodbye to an old one.
Earlier this month, the content creator—whose videos have earned her the nickname “Queen of Sorority Rush”—shared that she was taking a step back from fall recruitment with her Zeta Tau Alpha sisters due to negativity that she and her sibling Isabella Darnell—who is starting her freshmen year at Bama this year—have faced.
“Certain stuff that was being commented about my sister and about my own sorority—the negative things—I didn’t want anything to do with that,” she explained, “because people are so sure on the internet. They will see one thing and then they run a mile with it, and it’s not even true. I just didn’t want to be the cause of that.”
Noting that the hateful comments were “wearing on my mental health,” Kylan said the decision was part of an effort to be “more mature.”
“We put ourselves out there so much and it’s OK to take a mental health day,” she shared. “And I did receive a lot of positive comments when I decided to do that.”
The choice to step away is only temporary though, with Kylan emphasizing that she’s “still a Zeta.”
“I may return for Sisterhood Round just because I bought really cute dresses to show y’all, and I don’t want them to be sitting in my closet for the next year,” she said. “Or I may just come back on Bid Day, I haven’t decided.”
Kylan isn’t the only influencer to get candid about her lucrative career as a social media star. Keep reading to see how much other influencers get paid.
