Kim Kardashian is keeping fans updated on her new ‘do.
The SKIMS founder—known for her signature dark locks—debuted her latest hair transformation on August 15, revealing that she’s returned to being a blonde yet again.
Kim made the reveal on Instagram, where she posted a puckered up selfie mid-hairstyling. In the snap, the 44-year-old’s locks are a dusty blonde with dark roots and half done in loose braids. The other half of her hair is worn down while a silver clip holds some of her hair in place, blocking part of her face. Behind Kim in the photo were tracks of matching blonde extensions strewn about.
The Kardashians star captioned the photo “about that time” and added a blonde woman emoji.
Kim’s famous friends were quick to hype up her latest ‘do in the comments, with rapper JT of the City Girls writing, “Favorite color on you!” Her former hairstylist Scotty Cunha, meanwhile, said, “I love blonde Kim so much.”
Of course, this is far from the first time that Kim—who shares kids North West, 12, Saint West, 9, Chicago West, 7, and Psalm West, 6, with Kanye West—has gone blonde.
Most recently, the reality star rocked a curly blonde bob wig in the campaign for SKIMS’ collaboration with Roberto Cavalli, but more famously sported platinum blonde locks for a couple of her latest Met Gala appearances.
In 2024, Kim dyed her hair specifically at the request of Maison Margiela creative director John Galliano, who dressed her for the event that year.
“This has been in the planning, obviously, for weeks,” her hairstylist Chris Appleton told E! News after the 2024 Met Gala. “And John mentioned as soon as we did a fitting that he would love to see Kim blonde because the silver tones and we wanted to show that into the hair.”
He added that it took three or four sessions to get the exact right shade of blonde on Kim.
“There’s no shortcut to getting platinum blonde,” Chris explained, noting they wanted to allow her roots to show. “Which is really important on Kim.”
Two years earlier, Kim memorably donned a slicked back blonde bun for the 2022 Met Gala as she channeled Marilyn Monroe in a dress previously worn by the Hollywood icon.
That same year she explained how changing the color of her hair affects how she carries herself.
“I’m a totally different person,” Kim told Allure in 2022. “I’m sassier. I’m more confident as a blonde.”
She added, “As soon as I go back to brunette, I’m a boss.”
