It’s a reunion for Kaia Gerber and Jacob Elordi.
The exes—who dated for about a year between 2020 and 2021—were among the star-studded guests at Cara Delevingne’s birthday bash on August 5, though they attended the festivities separately. In addition to Kaia and Jacob, Margot Robbie, Selena Gomez, Colman Domingo and Paris Hilton were also on hand to celebrate Cara at Los Angeles’ Chateau Marmont ahead of her 33rd birthday on August 12.
Though Kaia and Jacob’s relationship only lasted a year—their romance blossoming in the summer of 2021 and coming to a close the following November—Kaia once spoke to how much of an impact their time together made on her.
“Being able to be with someone I trust, where we don’t want anything from each other, having a safe, steady relationship like that,” the Saturday Night star told Vogue in May 2021, “has really opened my eyes to the possibilities of love and what it feels like to love without conditions.”
Kaia added, “Lust is touching other people or wanting them, but love is really seeing someone.”
And though she and Jacob don’t often speak to their time together, Jacob proved there were no lingering hard feelings shortly after their breakup by sharing how the model taught him to navigate life in the spotlight.
“She handles herself wonderfully publicly,” the Kissing Booth star, 24, told the magazine. “And I’ve learned so much from her about how to handle it, how to deal with it and just kind of be whatever about it, you know?”
These days, both actors have moved on to new loves in their lives. Kaia, for her part, has recently sparked romance rumors with Marvel actor Lewis Pullman after she and Austin Bulter broke up at the beginning of the year.
Meanwhile, Jacob has been in an on and off again relationship with Olivia Jade Giannulli since the end of 2021.
When the Euphoria actor’s newest project The Narrow Road to the Deep North premiered in April, Olivia was sure to show her support by liking a series of Instagram posts about the series. Plus, the couple celebrated Olivia’s 25th birthday together in September in Sardinia, Italy, along with Olivia’s family.
Otherwise, the pair prefer to keep a low profile. As Olivia explained to E! News in 2023 of the biggest lesson she’s learned during a life in the public eye, “I think just be very self-aware and very aware of what you’re putting out there and really owning that. I’m more than blessed, and I have a beautiful life and a lot of people have it really hard.”
