Gwyneth Paltrow is showing how she makes the breakfast of champions.
As part of her “boyfriend breakfast” series—dedicated to husband Brad Falchuk—the Goop founder invited her social media followers inside her home in the Hamptons as she prepared a “Vietnamese-inspired, protein-packed spread” in her sizable kitchen, which featured such luxuries as a built-in espresso machine and wine cooler.
In a video posted on her Instagram page July 26, Gwyneth, 52, jammed to Hole’s “Celebrity Skin” in an oversized blue pajama set as she prepared a homemade turkey patty mixture on her kitchen island, which doubled as a giant cutting board. She then headed to her stovetop to cook the patties and make eggs, offering a glimpse at her white wraparound countertops, deep kitchen sink and a large window looking out to her garden.
While the Shakespeare In Love star—who shares daughter Apple Martin, 21, and son Moses Martin, 19, with ex-husband Chris Martin—was clearly right at home in her sprawling property, she previously spoke about her experience as an empty nester after both of her kids left for college.
“It’s very different,” she admitted in a video shared on her Instagram Stories in October. “I have waves of grief and sadness.”
But as Apple continues her studies at Vanderbilt University in Nashville and Moses attends classes at Brown University in Rhode Island, Gwyneth explained that their absence has allowed her prioritize herself in ways she hadn’t for decades.
“I am getting back in touch with this part of myself that I haven’t felt like since I was in my 20s before I had kids,” she continued. “A little more space and imagination, maybe. A little more inner space for what I might want to do that day, stuff like that.”
