The world is mourning the loss of Hulk Hogan.

Following the news of the WWE star’s July 24 death in Florida, with authorities confirming to E! News they had responded to an emergency pertaining to “cardiac arrest,” the 71-year-old’s friends and competitors expressed their grief over the tragic news.

“WWE is saddened to learn legendary WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away,” the WWE wrote in a July 24 Instagram tribute to the Hall of Famer. “One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.”

For his part, WWE champion Ric Flair dedicated a heartbreaking message to his longtime friend and most worthy adversary.

“I Am Absolutely Shocked To Hear About The Passing Of My Close Friend @hulkhogan,” the wrestler wrote on Instagram alongside several photos of himself with Hogan (real name Terry Gene Bollea). “Hulk Has Been By My Side Since We Started In The Wrestling Business. An Incredible Athlete, Talent, Friend, And Father!”

Flair further noted that when his youngest son Reid Flair was facing a health scare, Hogan—who won six WWE championships during his life—showed immense generosity.

“Our Friendship Has Meant The World To Me,” Flair continued. “He Was Always There For Me Even When I Didn’t Ask For Him To Be. He Was One Of The First To Visit Me When I Was In The Hospital With A 2% Chance Of Living, And He Prayed By My Bedside. Hulk Also Lent Me Money When Reid Was Sick. Hulkster, No One Will Ever Compare To You! Rest In Peace My Friend!”

Meanwhile, John Cena paid a silent tribute to the Hogan Knows Best star by simply sharing a throwback photo of Hogan doing what he loved most in the ring.  

Hogan, who became a major figure in right-wing politics in his later years, was also mourned by Donald Trump Jr.

“R.I.P. to a legend,” the eldest of President Donald Trump’s five children, wrote on X alongside a selfie of the two. “HULK HOGAN.”
