Tom Bradyisn’t fumbling his free time in retirement.
In fact, the former NFL quarterback took kids Benjamin, 15, and Vivian, 12—whom he shares with ex-wife Giselle Bündchen—on a summer vacation to Japan in June, and he recently documented their epic trip on social media.
As seen in his July 18 YouTube video highlighting their excursion, the trio visited a sports card shop in Tokyo to purchase a few collectible items—and fittingly, Tom bought his own rookie card to add to his collection.
“‘Brady has excellent arm strength,’” the 47-year-old read off the back of the card. “‘He can really get the pass to his target quickly. An outstanding athlete.’ It’s the first time I’ve ever heard that.”
After trading some cards with his kids, the group walked around an interactive museum before brushing up on their samurai skills. After channeling his inner Rurouni Kenshin, Tom—also dad to 17-year-old son Jack with Bridget Moynahan—met up with iconic artist, Takashi Murakami, to discuss his favorite art pieces before grabbing dinner at Tokyo’s Wagyumafia.
The Brady family also made memories in Kyoto, where they learned how to play a few rhythms on a taiko drum. And while this recap video ended with them performing a song, this wasn’t the end of their activities. In fact, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers alum showed off some more places they visited on Instagram.
“Japan we love you! We had SO MUCH FUN!” he captioned the June 16 Instagram post, which sees him and Vivian joining the Labubu hype train. “Thank you for your hospitality and beauty! What an amazing culture of honor, respect, and discipline. From the history, to the traditions, every day we learned and laughed and loved – the food, the shops, the people, the animals and everything in between!”
Indeed, the family enjoyed some eclectic entertainment, from watching a sumo wrestling match to visiting the zoo.
“These trips shape us,” he continued, “and remind us how much there is to learn when we step outside our routines and see the world together. Arigato gozaimasu!”
