Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is having a smashing time.
The actor was joined by his 24-year-old and ex Dany Garcia‘s 24-year-old daughter Simone Johnson—who wrestles under the ring name Ava Raine—at the London premiere of his MMA biopic The Smashing Machine Sept. 24.
Dressed in a dark blue suit with a white button-down top, Dwayne happily posed with the WWE NXT star, who wore a strapless black gown featuring embroidered flowers and a matching choker.
While Simone descends from a long line of wrestlers that includes grandfather Rocky “Soul Man” Johnson and great-grandfather Prince Peter Maivia, Dwayne doesn’t see it as her simply following in the family footsteps.
“‘Follow in my footsteps’ sounds cliché,” the 53-year-old said during a 2020 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “She actually wants to create and blaze her own path, which is just so important.”
Still, Dwayne considers it an “honor” to have a daughter who shares the same interest in wrestling.
“It blows my mind,” he said, adding that Simone “was working her ass off quietly under the radar” before signing with WWE NXT. “She hung in there and I’m very, very proud of her.”
And the Moana star’s two daughters Tiana, 6, and Jasmine, 9, with wife Lauren Hashian are likely to become wrestlers as well. In fact, the little ones were very excited about his return to WrestleMania last year.
“This is an indication of their DNA: They don’t cry. They’re not like, ‘I don’t want to see this,'” Dwayne told E! News in February 2024. “They’re like, ‘Can you drop an elbow on mom?'”
But they also have a shot at an acting career, according to Dwayne. After all, Tiana and Jasmine voiced two members of the “Moana-be’s” fan club in Moana 2.
“They loved it,” he told E! in November 2024. “They knew they were in it, and they were sitting on the edge of their seats, literally, and just waiting. And then their scene came up, and they’re just like, ‘That’s me!’ It was so cool.”
