Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox’s baby girl’s name isn’t a cliché.
In fact, the “Lonely Road” rapper shared that their daughter Saga Blade Fox-Baker’s name was inspired by the art of storytelling.
“I think her journey, you know, the five years of kind of her culmination of coming, disappearing, coming back again, disappearing, coming back again,” MGK—who welcomed his daughter with Megan in March—said during a June 20 appearance on Today. “She is an epic story. That’s what saga means.”
Noting that their baby girl’s name was also inspired by his Norwegian heritage, the rapper added, “That’s the Nordic goddess of storytelling. So, she has a storytelling future ahead of her.”
Another piece of MGK’s heart was on hand as he shared insight into Saga’s moniker. Ahead of his performance on the Today Show, he gave a special shoutout to his “baby girl” Casie, 15—whom he shares with ex Emma Cannon—who sent hand hearts her father’s way from where she was standing at the side of the stage.
MGK, 35, and Megan, 39, announced the arrival of their daughter in March. And while the pair initially remained mum about their baby girl’s name, the “Bloody Valentine” musician formally introduced her to the world with a sweet video earlier this week.
In a clip shared on Instagram, MGK played the ukulele while Saga sat in front of him cooing in a little rocker.
“Saga Blade Fox-Baker,” MGK wrote on Instagram June 17. “Thank you for the ultimate gift @meganfox.”
As it turns out, part of Saga’s name was picked by her parents years ahead of her arrival. In a resurfaced clip, MGK and Megan—who is also mom to kids Noah, 12, Bodhi, 11, and Journey, 8, with ex-husband Brian Austin Green—revealed that they were on the same page when it came to a middle name for their child.
“Can I guess what your middle name would be?” Megan asked MGK in a 2021 GQ Couples Quiz after he revealed he didn’t have one. “Blade.”
And MGK lit up, quickly adding, “That’s what I want.”
