Kourtney Kardashian is celebrating a major motherhood milestone.
The Kardashians star revealed that her 19-month-old son Rocky Thirteen Barker—whom she shares with husband Travis Barker—has officially started walking, offering a glimpse at his confident strides on social media.
In a photo shared on Instagram June 13, Rocky sported khaki pants and a black tank top with the number 13 emblazoned on the back as he made his way down a corridor. And while the toddler definitely seemed at ease on his own two feet, his mom, dressed in a leather jacket and beige pants, was by his side with an outstretched arm.
Alongside the post, Kourtney, 46, wrote, “True love will always bring you back home to your own soul.”
Rocky’s new achievement marks a huge step towards independence, but there’s still at least one way Kourtney—who also shares kids Mason Disick, 15, Penelope Disick, 12, and Reign Disick, 10, with ex Scott Disick—is keeping her youngest child close.
“With attachment-style parenting, I hold him for his naps the whole time,” she said on her sister Khloe Kardashian’s Khloe in Wonderland podcast in May. “I still have my little breastfeeding pillow and then he’ll lay on there, but my arm’s under, and then I have a little radiation blanket that I put over to protect from EMF from phone use.”
The Poosh founder noted that Rocky, who weighed 23 pounds, often naps up to five hours at a time, but there’s a reason she’s committed to her particular parenting method.
“I think it’s really not separating for as much as possible in the first definitely three years,” she explained. “It really helps nurture their attachment—secure attachment.”
And at the end of the day, Kourtney is taking cues from her most trustworthy source: herself.
“Just my motherly instincts,” she added. “Mother knows best.”
