Finneas is standing up for what he believes in.
Billie Eilish’ elder brother alleged that while protesting the recent raids by Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) in greater Los Angeles June 8, he had an encounter with law enforcement that turned violent.
“Tear gassed almost immediately at the very peaceful protest downtown,” Finneas wrote on his Instagram Stories that same day. “They’re inciting this.”
Moments later, the Grammy winner reposted another message to his Instagram Stories that directly took a shot at the government agency behind the raids, stating, “F–K ICE.
“F–K OFF ALL OF YOU WEEKEND GI JOE LOSERS,” the post continued of the U.S Immigration and Customs enforcement. “IF YOU ARE INTO THIS FASCIST S–T YOU ARE SMALL AND WEAK AND WILL LOSE.”
E! News has reached out to authorities for comment but has not heard back.
In the wake of the protests in Los Angeles, President Donald Trump deployed 2,000 California National Guard troops to the city to quell the protestors despite Governor Gavin Newson’s objections.
Finneas is among the many celebs who have criticized the raids. Indeed, Hilary Duff—who shares kids Banks, 6, Mae, 4, and Townes, 13 months, with husband Matthew Koma as well as Luca, 13, with ex-husband Mike Comrie—reposted a message that encapsulated what she and the protestors have been resisting against.
“Masked men abducting people off the street, from their jobs, from their cars from graduations is not ok,” the note, reposted from @thereclaimed, read. “Forcing toddlers and young children to represent themselves in court is not okay.”
“Having children come home to an empty house bc their guardians were snatched up is not ok,” the post continued. “Arresting law abiding folks at their immigration hearing is not ok. Don’t normalize this. Don’t look away. Don’t stay silent.”
And while other stars like Florence Pugh and Gracie Abrams continued to share resources and repost messages of support on their own platforms, Eva Longoria took to her Instagram Stories June 8 to deem the raids simply “Un-American.”
