Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen have some aca-awesome news to share.
The Pitch Perfect 3 star wed the Buffalo Bills quarterback in a California ceremony May 31, multiple outlets reported.
Like the Barden Bellas, Hailee and Josh are in perfect harmony. Just listen to what the MVP, whose personal life only enhanced his on-field performance last season, said about getting engaged to the Bumblebeealum.
“It feels unbelievable to be engaged to someone who is so special and loving and caring and gorgeous and fun and happy…” Josh told Hailee in the Dec. 6 edition of her newsletter Beau Society. “I can keep going if you want me to keep going…”
While fans could keep listening to the athlete spill all the tea on the proposal, the couple is keeping exact details of how he popped the question private for now. Still, he was willing to weigh in on some of the pre-game excitement.
“The funniest thing was that we woke up and were getting ready for brunch and you jumped on the bed and said ‘Can we get married already?!? What are you waiting for??!'” Josh continued. “I replied, ‘Just give me a little more time.’ Little did you know I was about to propose to you…”
And he’s just glad nobody fumbled the surprise.
“I was very nervous,” the University of Wyoming alum added. “I think I was most nervous about you finding out about the proposal. It was hard to keep secrets from you and have other people in your life keep secrets from you. Then multiple times throughout the day a song would come on and I would tear up thinking about how special our day was going to be.”
Needless to say, the proposal—which Hailee and Josh announced on Instagram Nov. 29 by posting a photo of him down on one knee in front of a flower arch, array of candles and oceanfront view as the sun set—was a total touchdown.
“I said I couldn’t wait any longer,” the 29-year-old gushed in the newsletter. “I said I can’t wait to start a family with you. I said your full name, and I asked you very nicely. I said please.”
But no need to beg for a recap on Hailee and Josh’s love story.
The pair first sparked romance rumors in May 2023 after they were spotted grabbing dinner in New York, and fans figured the two were in the relationship zone after they were spotted kissing in Mexico less than two months later.
Although, Josh wasn’t thrilled the paparazzi intercepted their privacy.
“The fact anybody cares about that still blows my mind,” he said on an August 2023 episode of the Pardon My Take podcast. “They were on a boat. I saw it, and I just felt this gross feeling. Just like insecurity, no privacy. I was just like, ‘What is wrong with you?'”
And while Josh and Hailee stayed mostly tight-lipped on their life together, they continued to be spotted out—including the times she turned up to cheer on his squad and their joint outings to root for local hockey team the Buffalo Sabres.
As time went on, the Dickinson actress and the NFL player began giving followers glimpses into their turf—appearing in videos shared by each other’s families, posting pictures from their trip to Paris and uploading snaps of their circus-themed Halloween party.
And when it comes to their careers, they’re each other’s biggest cheerleaders—with Hailee standing by his side at the 2025 NFL Honors in February (where he called her his “rock” and best friend) and Josh joining her at the premiere of her movie Sinners in April.
“It means everything,” the 28-year-old exclusively told E! News about her fiancé’s support. “I’m so proud of him and everything that he does, every single day, let alone during the season. I’m just so grateful to be able to share this with him as well.”
And as Hailee and Josh continue to deal with the public attention, they’ll likely be calling their own plays in terms of sharing what feels right to them.
“I feel so lucky that [my fans] care enough about me to know what I’m doing every second of every day, but I think that sometimes it’s hard for people in general to realize that there are no boundaries to a person’s life and personal life,” she told Us Weekly in 2018. “I am very private person. I do love that I have the opportunity to share with them what I’m comfortable with and they’re there to listen and support me.”

Hailee and Josh confirmed they were engaged in a November 29 Instagram post showing the athlete getting down on one knee as the Oscar nominee leaned in to give him a kiss. They captioned the post with the date of their major milestone: 11-22-24.
February 2025: Red Carpet Ready
Just a few months after their engagement, Josh and Hailee officially made their red carpet debut at the NFL Honors, where he was named MVP. And during his acccepance speech, he gave her a heartfelt shoutout.
“You’ve been my rock and my best friend,” he told her. “I would not be standing on this stage if it weren’t for you.”
