The Golden Bachelor Season 2 Cast Revealed

These new golden girls are ready to meet their man.

Three weeks before season two of The Golden Bachelor debuts, the ABC dating series is introducing fans to the 23 ladies who will compete for the heart of NFL star-turned-lawyer Mel Owens, 66.

Among them is 60-year-old Cindy, a mom of three and a retired biomedical engineer from Austin, Texas, who once dated none other Chuck Norris, according to ABC.

Also hailing from Texas is Roxanne, 62, a longevity nurse “specializing in anti-aging and helping women over 50 take care of their bodies,” and Terri, a 71-year-old cosmetic dentist. Another dentist in the mix? Birmingham, Alabama-based Monica P., 60.

Other contestants include 62-year-old Monica B., a Huntsville, Alabama-based flight attendant, Peg, a 62-year-old retired firefighter and bomb tech from Las Vegas and Andra, a 77-year-old retired federal worker who lives in Los Angeles.

While Mel’s suitors are all between 60 and 77 years old, he sparked controversy in June after revealing he’d told producers he preferred contestants in the 46 to 60 age range, adding, “If they’re 60 or over, I’m cutting them.” 

The following month, the former Los Angeles Rams linebacker apologized.

“My reference of dating was 39, 40 years old,” he told Glamour in an interview published Aug. 1. “I hadn’t dated in 26, 27 years. And at that point I still hadn’t dated, so my reference was my age, basically.”

Mel, who shares two adult sons with his ex-wife Fabiana Pimentel, also admitted to addressing the comments with the Golden Bachelor ladies. 

“I apologized to the women on the show,” he shared. “When I first walked in, I addressed it. I apologized to them. I said, ‘It was unfair, insensitive. I want to earn it back. Just give me the chance.’ And hopefully this last two, three weeks I earned some of that back.”
