Sofia Richie is the ultimate party planner.
The model and her husband Elliot Grainge celebrated their daughter Eloise’s first birthday with a lavish backyard bash in honor of the special milestone.
In a post on Instagram May 20, Sofia shared photos and videos from the pink-themed affair, which featured a bouncy castle, mini tents and a two-tier rainbow cake. Alongside the pics, the 26-year-old reflected on her first year of motherhood and the unexpected bittersweetness of Eloise’s big day.
“I didn’t realize her first birthday was going to be such a mix of emotion for me,” she wrote in the caption. “On one hand it’s the most amazing beautiful milestone. On the other hand I look back and realize those tiny little moments are something I’ll never get back.”
But it’s an experience Sofia wouldn’t trade, as she added, “Watching her grow has been a gift.”
“My greatest achievement will ALWAYS be her,” she continued. “Elliot and I couldn’t love anything in this life more. I don’t know what I did to deserve my little buggie, but all I know is my heaven is right here on earth with her.”
Shortly after giving birth, Sofia—whose parents are Lionel Richie and Diane Alexander—shared how she’s changed her approach to her career in order to put her baby first.
“If I’ve gotta go to fashion week, then she’s going to pack her bags and come with me,” she said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal in August. “If she can’t, then I’m not going to be able to make it.”
And even though Sofia described herself as “very type A,” she revealed that being a mom has taught her to go with the flow.
“I’m a very scheduled, organized person,” she went on. “But I’ve also learned that I don’t have to be that way, because when you have a baby, all of that kind of goes out the window.”
