Lindsay Dewey is remembering her baby boy.

Two months after the influencer shared that her and husband Eric Dewey’s son, 22-month-old Reed Dewey, died after an accident at their Idaho home, she reflected on celebrating her first Mother’s Day without her toddler.

“Took me a while to make this but this is what I’ve wanted all day…to just hold Reed in my arms. Just like this,” Lindsay wrote on her May 12 Instagram post, which features several photos of her embracing Reed. “Never thought I’d have to copy and paste a picture of my baby to have him in my arms again. I miss it so much. A piece of me is missing, and always will be.”

And while the 37-year-old—also mom to Breegan, 6, and Tucker, 4—noted that spending the holiday without her youngest son was “hard,” she’s thankful that she can continue to be there for her other two kids. Indeed, the trio are making memories together, as Lindsay also shared a heartbreaking photo of them holding a pillow with Reed’s face on the front.

“My 3 babies are/ were my world and it’s been a dream of mine since I was a very little girl,” she continued. “It’s a true gift and honor to raise these babies. It’s a duty I will never take lightly or for granted. A house full of babies and chaos is the best feeling.”

Lindsay then ended the post with a supportive shoutout to her fellow mothers, including the ones who have lost their children.

“And to the ones who are feeling that void, missing a puzzle piece, and dealing with grief that comes with it,” she concluded, “you’re not alone and you’re doing great.”

And when Lindsay isn’t giving glimpses into her motherhood journey, she’s raising awareness for Reed following his fatal accident in February. A month after his death, she explained the toddler was trying to pull his suction cup bowl off their “heavy duty” mirror when it fell on top of him.

“He was laying there eyes open but not crying and I felt relieved thinking he must’ve been okay,” Lindsay wrote in her March 10 Instagram Stories. “But no…he was not the Reed I knew. Based on how he was acting, I immediately knew something was VERY wrong and that it was serious but never did we expect it to be so serious that he wouldn’t survive it.”

Ultimately, Reed suffered a skull fracture and a “severe traumatic brain injury” that left him in a coma. But despite receiving medical care, Reed’s doctors determined he was brain dead.

“We both are still in complete shock that this is what took our baby from us,” the mother of three continued. “We’re only sharing this because we don’t want this happening to anybody.”
