Luke Newton couldn’t help but show off his diamond this season.
Nearly one year after the Bridgerton star confirmed his romance with Antonia Roumelioti while out in London, he shared the sweetest pic of himself and the dancer on social media.
Along with some brooding photos of himself in the May 9 Instagram post, he also included a snap of him giving Antonia a loving kiss on the cheek as they cozied up on a couch at the Dovetale restaurant during British Vogue and Netflix’s pre-BAFTA TV Awards party.
While neither the actor nor the dancer has publicly spoken about their romance, they have been out and about in London recently, including at the BOSS One Premiere Party hosted by David Beckham.
But it’s understandable that Luke, 32, has chosen to keep his personal life relatively private. After all, his skyrocket to fame as the leading man of Bridgerton’s season three opposite Nichola Coughlan has taken time to get used to.
“I was finding it really overwhelming,” he told WWD in May 2024. “I had a moment in Australia where I was like, ‘Oh no, I’m getting in a good place with this and starting to really enjoy it and not feeling too overwhelmed by it all.’ Then it was the premiere and I was like, ‘Oh no, I’m not at all.’”
Luckily, he had Nicola—who made her red carpet debut with boyfriend Jake Dunn this April—to help him navigate the newfound fame.
“It’s really cool,” he said of his costar’s dynamic with fans. “She’s so gracious with it and just handles it so well. She’s a great example of how to cope with the sudden fame.”
Nicola, 38, also seems to be an example in other ways, as Luke took a page out of her handbook regarding relationships. Like the Derry Girls alum, he went from being spotted on the streets of London with Antonia before casually posting her on his Instagram.
And it’s no surprise since the pair developed a deep bond while filming Bridgerton. In fact, Nicola couldn’t help but gush over their friendship, which many fans wanted to bloom into a romance.
“A lot of people really want me to marry Luke,” she told Time in October. “We have this gorgeous friendship. We have such a love for one another and this experience that I’ll never have with someone else again. Isn’t it gorgeous that a man and woman can have that sort of relationship with one another?”
