Jordon Hudson is staying right by Bill Belichick’s side.
After a report surfaced that the 24-year-old was banned from joining the University of North Carolina football head coach at its facilities, the school is clearing up the rumors.
“While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities,” UNC said in a statement to E! News May 9. “Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University.”
The rumors of Hudson’s banning comes shortly after Belichick, 73, cleared up another misconception about his relationship when Hudson was shown to have briskly shut down questions pertaining to their relationship in a now-viral CBS Mornings interview.
Indeed, the former New England Patriots coach alleged his girlfriend—who is nearly 50 years younger than him—had only stepped in after he had made the request to stay on the topic of his book The Art of Winning—Lessons from My Life in Football, multiple times.
“She was not deflecting any specific question or topic but simply doing her job to ensure the interview stayed on track,” Belichick—who also employs Hudson as his manager—wrote in a statement to E! News April 30. “Some of the clips make it appear as though we were avoiding the question of how we met, but we have been open about the fact that Jordon and I met on a flight to Palm Beach in 2021.”
As he put it, “The final eight-minute segment does not reflect the productive 35-minute conversation we had.”
Belichick also noted that he had “clearly communicated” that he only wanted to discuss his memoir prior to the interview, a claim CBS Mornings has pushed back on.
“When we agreed to speak with Mr. Belichick, it was for a wide-ranging interview,” the news outlet said. “There were no preconditions or limitations to this conversation. This was confirmed repeatedly with his publisher before the interview took place and after it was completed.”
