It’s never hard keeping up with Kim Kardashian‘s Met Gala looks.
That’s because, year after year, the Kardashians star debuts a new, jaw-dropping outfit on the first Monday in May—and this year is no exception.
On May 5, Kim climbed the stairs of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City rocking a skintight, black leather dress by Chrome Hearts and coordinating black hat for the Met Gala 2025. The 44-year-old outdid herself yet again with plenty of Moussaieff diamond necklaces dripping down her chest over the off-the-shoulder number and dazzling earrings to match. (For a look at every celeb at the event, head on over here.)
As for her glam, the mom of North, 11, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5, wore her long, black hair back in retro waves.
The ensemble perfectly fit the Met Gala 2025 theme of “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” and the dress code “Tailored for You.”
Partly inspired by Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, the Costume Institute’s latest exhibit explores Black men’s use of style to “transform identities” and “imagine new ways of embodying political and social possibilities.”
Last month, Kim’s longtime hairstylist Chris Appleton shared insight into what it’s really like for a glam team prepping for fashion’s biggest night.
“It’s like the wedding of fashion,” Chris told E! News in April. “For the glam team, it’s their ultimate time to glow.”
And the beauty expert promised Kim’s look would be anything but ordinary.
“The Met Ball is the one that’s just like expected for that out there, glam as much as it is the outfit,” Chris noted, “people I think would be somewhat disappointed if you just turned up looking regular.”
And Kim—whose latest red carpet outing comes just days before she’s scheduled to head to France to testify in the criminal trial stemming from her 2016 Paris robbery—has never shown up to the Met Gala looking regular.
Last year, the SKIMS mogul looked stunning at the 2024 event in a metallic Maison Margiela floral print gown with a waist-cinching lace corset and headline-making sweater. The year prior, the style icon made jaws drop while draped in pearls in a custom Schiaparelli look.
And who could forget Kim’s 2019 wet dress, a.k.a. her skin-tight, super-cinched Thierry Mugler dress that required breathing lessons due to the incredibly tight corset.
