Ego Nwodim is serving some big looks at the 2025 Met Gala.
As the Saturday Night Live star walked the famed steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City for her first Met Gala appearance May 5, her hair—styled by Miles Jeffries—was arguably one of the most intriguing parts of her fabulous outfit.
“I feel like I’m carrying art on my head,” Ego told E! News’ Zuri Hall at the 2025 Met Gala, hosted by co-chairs A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams as well as Vogue editor Anna Wintour. “I feel so good, it’s fabulous.”
“I feel like this is the tallest my hair has ever been,” Ego, 37, quipped, showing off her whimsical and elaborate updo. “I’ve always wanted to be 5’9, and now I’m like, ‘It’s giving 6’2.’”
Along with her perfectly sculptured ‘do, the comedian—who hosted Vogue’s Met Gala livestream alongside Teyana Taylor and La La Anthony—incorporated the theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Back Style,” into her look with a custom archival Christopher John Rogers three-piece suit with a billowing peplum waist and blazer-style top. To add more detail to her extravagant look, the silky black set featured subtle polka-dot detailing as well as colorful buttons going down the sleeve. And if the suit wasn’t already stunning enough, Ego accessorized with a dazzling diamond necklace around her neck and a fresh set of nails with buttons atop each finger to match her blazer.
“The mani took maybe two hours,” Ego said, joking that getting ready felt like she had entered a time machine. “I don’t know. I woke up, people did some things, and now I look like this.”
As for what the 37-year-old said she was looking forward to most upon entering the lavish charity gala for the first time? Well, she admitted she was beyond thrilled to see what was on the menu.
“I’m excited about people’s looks,” the comedian noted, “but I’m a food girly so I’m ready to eat.”
And to round out her epic look, Ego sported a gorgeous updo, courtesy of hairstylist Miles Jeffries. “I wanted it to be a love letter to my fellow black hair artists,” he shared of her style, achieved with TRESemmé products, “specifically Black hair show culture like the Bronner brothers.”
