Taylor Frankie Paul doesn’t exactly have faith that she and Dakota Mortensen will live happily ever after.
More than four months after The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars’ rumored breakup, Taylor is sharing new insight into what led to their relationship drama.
“There was some betrayal,” the #MomTok influencer—who shares 13-month-old son Ever with Dakota—told E! News in an exclusive interview ahead of the Hulu series’ season two premiere. “We’re just trying to both heal individually and get to a better spot, because I think together, obviously we couldn’t get there. Right now, we’re doing the best we can for our baby and, what happens in the future, I’m not sure. Right now, I’m focusing on only me.”
While the 30-year-old admitted it will be “really triggering” watching their struggles play out on the new season, she also noted, “I am in a much better place now.”
“Time heals wounds, honestly,” Taylor—who is also mom to kids Indy and Ocean with ex Tate Paul—shared. “When they say that quote, it is so true.”
Right now, the reality stars are just focusing on raising baby Ever.
“Co-parenting is great, but it’s also the worst,” Taylor admitted. “It’s the worst pain a parent can experience, it’s very torturous. For me, experiencing that already with my other two, this one has been excruciating and been really hard. To make that decision for myself, because I knew the pain that was coming with it, made it a lot harder to let go of us being together.”
And since Taylor and Dakota have been spotted together since the breakup—the exes even got cozy while attending the Stagecoach music festival last month—fans are wondering if there’s any chance they will get back together.
“I don’t know the answer, because I didn’t want this to be the case so for me,” the TikTok star told E!. “I think he has that hope still to this day. So, I think if any or both of us are holding on to even one percent chance, then I don’t want to say ‘never say never.'”
As for Taylor’s thoughts on starting to date again?
“Couldn’t imagine anything worse,” she joked. “No, I’m kidding obviously. Just not right now.”
