Nick Cannonis facing new allegations about his parenting.
The dad of 12 was recently called out by his ex Alyssa Scott—with whom he shares daughter Halo Marie Cannon, 2—after he discussed the $10 million insurance policy he took out on an unconventional body part—his testicles.
“This is all facts,” Nick told Raven-Symoné and her wife Miranda Maday on the May 1 episode of their Tea Time podcast. It started off like, ‘Yo, this would be a good joke,’ but we really went through with it.”
The 44-year-old—who also shares twins Moroccan and Monroe, 14, with ex-wife Mariah Carey—also explained that a conversation with the men’s personal care company Dr. Squatch inspired him to consider the insurance policy.
“They were like, ‘Yo, a lot of celebrity women are insuring their legs in case something goes wrong,’” Nick continued. “They were like, ‘Well, what’s your most valuable asset, Nick?”
His answer to that question? “My balls!”
“I got the insurance policy in my office. It’s legit,” he explained. “We actually went back and forth with this. It’s 5 million per testicle and if I happen to lose one, all the money goes to my kids.”
But while Nick noted that any money from a potential claim would go to his kids, Alyssa—who also shared son Zen with the Masked Singer host, though he tragically died from brain cancer at 5 months old in 2021—responded with some frustration toward him.
“Ha ha haaa. Funny. Any plans on seeing your child?” she wrote on her Instagram Story May 1 alongside a clip of his podcast appearance. “It’s been over a month @nickcannon.”
She continued, “But good to know she’ll get some of your $ if anything happens to your balls.”
She signed off her message with simply, “Smh.”
E! News reached out to reps for Alyssa and Nick for comment on her accusations but has not heard back.
Prior to Alyssa’s callout, the Wild ‘N Out star had been open about the difficulty of managing his schedule and seeing all of his kids, but noting that it actually “works a lot better” to spend individual time with them because he feels the “only person that would benefit from having everyone in the same space would probably be me.”
“I feel like qualitative experiences are when I can give everyone their own individual experience,” he told Peoplein 2023. “I actually love stepping into their world. Going to their sports games or giving them their personal time for the holidays. So I have no problem with bouncing around.”
He added, “I think as everyone probably gets older, and even as I slow down a little bit more, I’m sure everyone will start coming to me in one place.”
