The soap opera community is mourning one of its own.
Lar Park Lincoln, who played Linda Fairgate on Dallas spinoff Knots Landing for five years, died April 22, her company America’s Audition Studios announced on Facebook. She was 63.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lar Park Lincoln, celebrated actress, founder of Actors Audition Studios, and America’s beloved Audition Coach,” the Dallas-based actors training program wrote April 24. “Over her 45-year career, Lar left an unforgettable mark on Hollywood through her dynamic performances and dedication to mentoring aspiring actors.”
The actress had battled breast cancer, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Her company’s post went on to acknowledge some of Lars’ most famous acting roles, including 1985 film Children of the Night
“Lar earned the Bronze Halo Award for her contributions to entertainment,” her business wrote, “and is best remembered as the telekinetic ‘scream queen’ Tina Shepard in Friday the 13th Part VII.”
As the tribute shared, Lar leaves behind her daughter Piper, son Trevor, sister Karen, brother Michael and four grandchildren.
After also acknowledging her “countless friends, extended family, and admirers worldwide,” America’s Audition Studios wrote that “the family requests privacy during this time and is grateful for the outpouring of love over Lar’s four-decade career.”
Following her breakout performance in Friday the 13th Part VII as the teenage protagonist Tina Shepard, Lar would go on to take on roles on Beverly Hills 90210, Freddy’s Nightmares and Murder She Wrote, among many other acting projects. She also spent 19 years as QVC’s celebrity guest host.
Later into her career, the Texas native would focus more of her efforts on sharing the wisdom that she’d cultivated through multiple decades in Hollywood with up-and-coming actors, penning Get Started, Not Scammed in 2008 and founding America’s Audition Studios.
“It’s my passion to work with actors, speakers, coaches, and authors to create their best work and soar to success,” Lar wrote on her company’s website. “As a person who understands just how rewarding it is to live out your wildest dreams, it’s equally rewarding for me to help others reach theirs.”
