Some couples have found their piece of paradise.
The tenth season of Bachelor in Paradise—which saw alums from both the original series as well as the Golden spinoff on the hunt for love—has officially come to a close, and with it a new slew of islanders who have either found their match or are exiting as they came: single, though perhaps less ready to mingle.
This year, the only couple who are leaving the show engaged are Spencer Conley (from Jenn Tran’s season) and Jess Edwards (from Joey Graziadei’s season), who won not only each other’s hearts but also those of viewers with their strong connection.
And though they didn’t get engaged, Alexe Godin (Grant Ellis’ season)and Andrew Spencer (Katie Thurston’s season) are the other couple walking away with a cut of the $500,000 prize money—and, apparently, lasting love. Both Alex and Andrew as well as Spencer and Jess are still together at the time of the finale’s airdate.
The finale also offered up a surprise twist: each of the four finalists was offered a choice between love or leaving with $250,000. While Alexe, Andrew, Jess and Spencer each chose love over the duffle bag of money.
Thankfully, each couple was stil presented with three envelopes bearing mystery amounts of money—Alexe and Andrew walked away with $125,000 and Jess and Spencer ended up with $190,000.
The four finalists aren’t the only ones who have found seemingly lasting love. Though eliminated from the show before the finale, Dale Moss (who was previously engaged to Bachelorette Clare Crawley) and Kat Izzo (from Zach Shallcross’ season) are still happily together, as are Jeremy Simon (Jenn’s season) and Bailey Brown (Grant’s season).
And while the alums from the Golden Bachelor and Bachelorette made waves in paradise—with golden alum April Kirkwood and The Bachelorette’s Sean McLaughlin sharing a kiss during a challenge—their presence still left its mark.
As showrunner Scott Teti told Variety in July, “I think the unique thing about bringing the Goldens in is the POV they bring. The Goldens come in with a lot fewer inhibitions. They’ve lived a lot more life. I think they’re much freer, and their way of thinking is a bit more uninhibited.”
Plus, there was some intergenerational advice being passed around.
“When there’s this crossover of the two generations, it’s a really fun mix,” Scott continued. “The younger is giving the Golden cast dating advice, telling them how to swipe left or write, and the vice versa—‘Lower your standards, honey, if you want to find a man.’ So it was very comedic and endearing.”
