Matthew Broderick knows better than anyone that life moves pretty fast.
And for those who haven’t been looking around, the Ferris Bueller’s Day Off alum and wife Sarah Jessica Parker’s twin daughters Tabitha Hodge Broderick and Marion Loretta Elwell Broderick are suddenly 15 years old and looking so grown up as they when they stepped out with their parents for a rare family night.
The group of four attended the opening night of Broadway’s Smash on April 10, where they walked the premiere’s red carpet.
For the occasion, Tabitha and Marion both donned gowns which they paired with long overcoats. Tabitha—who is the spitting image of her dad—wore a green gown and a turquoise jacket, while Marion—who favors her mom—opted for a black lace covered dress and cream-colored coat.
Matthew and Sarah—who are also parents to 22-year-old son James Wilkie—likewise showed up and showed out in their looks. The War Games actor wore an elegant navy suit and paisley tie while the Sex and the City star wore a black lace dress and matching trench coat, accessorizing her look with a bedazzled silver handbag.
Over the years, the couple—who have been married for almost 30 years—have pulled back the curtain on where their children stand on following in the show business footsteps of their parents.
On the part of their girls, Matthew revealed to E! News April 7, “One of them definitely is not, she says, right now, but I don’t think so.”
Meanwhile James feels oppositely and has already shared the screen with his dad during a February episode of CBS’ Elsbeth. And for the 63-year-old, spending time with his son on set was a gift.
“It was great. We had two days together,” Matthew continued. “It was really fun to hang around the craft service table and eat snacks. He was nervous but he got over that. We had a great couple of days. It was great.”
And James was likewise thrilled by the opportunity.
“What a thrill it was to work side by side with my dad, who also happens to be my favorite actor!” James told People in January. “The whole experience of working on Elsbeth was beyond exciting and I am very grateful to the producers for giving me this opportunity.”
Plus, he has his parents with him every step of the way.
“Well, I’ll give advice if I’m asked,” Matthew told People in an interview published April 8. “My wife is with him when he does auditions. It’s self-tape nowadays and she’ll read with him and tell him, ‘It’s not good.’ And you know I will too.”
The Inspector Gadget actor added, “He has a really good education too, so he has a lot of different things he can do. But I think right now he likes acting.”
