Demi Moore‘s family is all about the moore, the merrier.
That’s why her and ex Bruce Willis‘ 33-year-old daughter Scout Willis has no ill will toward Ashton Kutcher, who was married to Demi from 2005 to 2013 after her early aughts divorce from the Die Hard star.
“That’s not the way I hold it, my mom holds it,” Scout told Entertainment Tonight on April 9. “Since my parents divorced when I was young, it’s always been handled with absolute grace and love.”
She continued, “I think that really is the way forward for everything—just putting the children first and handling everything with a lot of mutual respect.”
Her sentiments echoed those recently made by younger sister Tallulah Willis, who said that “no one needs to be bad guy for a situation to be healed.”
“I have a lot to say on this! Especially how to move through an ex-step parent,” she wrote on Instagram April 8, after Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband Brad Falchuk shared how they merged families on a recent episode of the Goop podcast. “It’s an important conversation tbh.”
The 31-year-old added at the time, “There’s room for everyone.”
Indeed, Tallulah’s family is quite the blended one. In addition to older siblings Scout and Rumer Willis, 36, she’s also very close to younger sisters Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10, who Bruce shares with his wife of 16 years Emma Hemming.
On April 10, the Wyllis founder expanded on her previous remarks about Ashton, noting on Instagram, “I have a lot to say on the journey of being the child and having a step parent become an ex-step parent and there not be a lot of tools or conversations available during that process.”
“Nothing cagey here,” she clarified, “just think it’s an important thing to open up dialogue about.”
While Ashton has not publicly addressed Tallulah or Scout’s comments, he’s said in the past that his former stepdaughters have a special place in his heart.
“I make a really conscious effort to stay in touch with the girls,” the That 70s Show alum—who shares kids Wyatt, 10, and Dimitri, 8, with wife Mila Kunis—told Marc Maron‘s WTF podcast in 2020. “I love them, and I’m never going to stop loving them, right? And respecting them and honoring them and rooting for them.”
