Manuel Turizo was feeling the dopamina while working on “Que Haces.”

The singer shared insight into his and Becky G‘s collaboration to drop their joint Latin tropical single, three years after first broaching the idea of working together.

“We had been talking and looking for ideas,” Manuel told E! News in an exclusive interview. “Sometimes, you don’t find the song where you’re both connecting to the same vision. We were looking to do something together.”

Flash forward to earlier this year, whenthe 25-year-old revealed that a mutual friend of theirs sent a sample track Becky had done earlier this year, which piqued his interest.

“That blew my mind,” he gushed. “I loved it. So, I was like, ‘Let’s do it. Tell her, let’s do it now!’ After that, a week later, we had it all together. We were just preparing the video, preparing everything.”

In fact, Manuel and Becky (real name Rebbeca Marie Gomez) even starred in the music video for the vibrant, merengue-bachata fusion track. Looking back at the project, he was grateful that they “took time to find the right song to do.”

For him and the “Shower” singer, it was essential to find a tune that called to them, not just one that would be “good business.”

As Manuel put it, “I’m like, ‘Let’s do something because we feel it and we think that it’s something really great for the people.'”

When it came to stepping into the studio with Becky, 28, or any artist, the “En Privado” singer emphasized that there is a separate and more important dynamic. A part of that is checking your ego at the door.

“The most important thing with everybody is just to be very, very real,” he reflected. “What matters is the song that you’re creating.”

“You’re working for the song, you’re not working for, ‘That was mine. I did that,'” he continued. “For me, the easiest way to work with somebody when in the studio is if there is no ego or those things coming up.”

That’s how, like Manuel’s past projects, his November 2024 album 201 came to be.

“When I’m putting together songs to do an album, I just let the creativity go wild,” he shared. “I don’t like to put walls in myself when I’m creating. Every time you go to the studio, your brain is going to throw ideas.”

He noted that he plays with “a bunch of ideas” to see what makes him “feel more connected.” And it was no different with his song, Mírame Ahora (Salud Mi Reina), which was released earlier this month.

And now, Manuel is taking his songs around the world with his 201Tour—from June until February 2026—which he said is “way different” than his past shows.

“In this tour, called 201 it’s my house,” he explained. “It’s the number of my apartment where the songs came to life.”

He plans to take “the same vibe in the place that everything was created” to cities in Mexico, the U.S., Spain, France, Colombia and more. He added, “That was the idea for everything and that’s how we created the 201Tour.”

As for what fans can expect from the tour? Manuel teased, “You’re gonna see my house just on the top of the stage, and everything is happening just inside there.”
