Live from New York, it’s a new baby in the family.
Saturday Night Live alum Cecily Strong shared she and her fiancé Jack have officially welcomed their first child, a baby girl whose name the couple has chosen to keep private.
“It’s been a week and a day with my beautiful squirmy baby girl,” Cecily captioned an April 10 Instagram post. “I recognize all her little squirms and kicks from when she was on the other side of me and now I get to say ‘see what I was talking about!’”
Alongside the sweet photo—which showed Cecily and the family’s dog sleeping alongside the baby’s crib—the 41-year-old joked her newborn makes “Robert De Niro faces and snorts when she is super determined on the boob,” with Cecily adding that she screamed “woo hoo” upon seeing her baby’s full head of hair during labor.
“And I’ve been screaming Whoo hoo every day since,” Cecily added, “because she’s absolutely perfect and I won the lottery.”
The Schmigadoon! alum went on to thank her care team while joking about her postpartum recovery—comparing the physical effects to feeling like the “Muay Thai fighter from White Lotus kicking the crap out of my cooch.”
But despite it all, Cecily stressed she’s “so in love and so tired it’s like the greatest dream.”
She also took a moment to share a sweet shoutout to her fiancé, to whom she became engaged in March 2024. Among Jack’s new dad duties, Cecily praised his skills when it comes to diapering, swaddling, breakfast cooking, and “dog cuddling so she never feels left out.”
Cecily noted her fiancé “is the best dad I could ever have imagined,” adding, “and best partner I could have imagined.”
The comedian also couldn’t help but add a self-deprecating acknowledgment of her lengthy post.
“Sorry for the run on sentences,” she concluded. “I’ve called the pediatrician ‘the vet’ almost 35 times. I love you ESM.”
Cecily’s post was soon filled with well wishes from fellow celebrities as well as her former NBC family, with Kenan Thompson adding a string of red hearts while Amy Schumer added, “You did it!”
