Aldis Hodge as the detective and forensic psychologist who delves into the minds of killers to catch them is back on the hunt — and facing another emotional bender — in a short teaser for the second season of Cross, which dropped on Thursday.

The drama based on James Patterson’s best-selling novel series in the first season saw Cross pursue a narcissistic serial killer played by Ryan Eggold and uncover Miss Nancy as an assumed stalker endangering his family.

When speaking about the finale’s cliffhanger ending, creator/showrunner Ben Watkins divulged to The Hollywood Reporter that he has a four-year plan for the series. “We want this thing to go for 10 seasons, but in my head, I had already made a four-year plan, and it’s based on some things that I want to do to mine and pay homage to the characters that are in the Alex Cross book series,” he said.

Now the second season finds Cross in pursuit of a ruthless vigilante hunting down corrupt billionaire magnates. “I’ve never seen anything like this,” special agent Kayla Craig, played by Alona Tal, tells Cross at one point in the teaser (below) as they peer into a computer screen.

Also returning for the sophomore season is Isaiah Mustafa as Detective John Sampson, who patched things up with his best friend and partner Cross at the end of the first season; along with Samantha Walkes, Juanita Jennings, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd and Johnny Ray Gill.

The short teaser has Cross and Sampson taking their brotherhood to the mean streets of Washington D.C. with car chases and takedowns with guns drawn. New season two additions to the Cross cast announced during New York Comic Con on Thrusday include Matthew Lillard, Jeanine Mason and Wes Chatham.

Produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Paramount Television Studios and executive produced, showrun and written by Ben Watkins, the new season of Cross will roll out on Prime Video globally Feb. 11, 2026, with the first three episodes. New episodes debut each week until the season finale on March 18.
