Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin Respond to Relationship Critics With Pinocchio Video

Watch:Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin Respond to Viral Interview Backlash With Pinocchio Video

Alec Baldwin is a little tied up at the moment.

Three months after the 30 Rock actor and his wife Hilaria Baldwin faced backlash over a red carpet interview in which she seemingly scolded him for interrupting her, one social media user drew a meme that portrayed the 41-year-old as a puppet master controlling her husband’s every move. So, the Yoga Vida founder decided to give the concept a try.

In a joint video shared to Instagram June 2, Pinocchio’s “When You Wish Upon a Star” played in the background as Hilaria stood on top of a chair in a green dress while leaning over Alec, 67, who sat in a chair while moving his arms up and down to mimic a marionette puppet.

“Well, you guys have me the idea,” Hilaria—who tied the knot with Alec in 2012—quipped in the caption. “I just HAD to try it out.”

And this isn’t the first time the couple has responded to relationship critics with humor. Not long after their controversial red carpet moment in March, Hilaria and Alec—who share kids Carmen, 11, Rafael, 9, Leonardo, 8, Romeo, 7, Eduardo, 4, María, 4, Ilaria, 2—decided to set the record straight with a lighthearted video.

After mouthing along to an audio clip from the interview, Hilaria asked Alec, “And what is that called, what’s the word of the day?”

To which the Rust star, also dad to Ireland, 29, with ex Kim Basinger, responded, “Manterrupting.”

Joking that the term could be a “positive” or a “negative,” she turned the camera to her husband, who added that it could be a case of “correctile disfunction.”

And before they were interrupted by one of their kids banging on their bedroom door and calling out for “mommy,” Hilaria attempted to quell the rumors surrounding their relationship once and for all.

“The whole point,” she said, “is that we interrupt each other all the time or sometimes our kids interrupt.”

In a separate Instagram video, Hilaria cuddled in bed with her husband and whispered, “I’m having a lot of women tell me they’d treat me better than I’d treat you—do you want to make a change?”

Immediately playing into the joke, Alec replied, “Yeah, I think this isn’t working.”

As for why the interview with Extra at the grand opening of Planet Hollywood left so many commenters thinking that Hilaria was “horrible to him” and “very rude?” Well, she had a pretty strong reaction to Alec interrupting her while she was taking about a possible season two of their TLC reality series The Baldwins.

“Oh my god, when I’m talking, you’re not talking,” Hilaria said to Alec during the interview. “No, when I’m talking, you’re not talking.”
