Anna Wintour knows what it takes to look superfine at the 2025 Met Gala.
Indeed, the Vogue editor-in-chief’s presence was felt as she made her way down the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art May 5 for the biggest night in fashion.
With the “Tailored For You” dress code in mind, which went hand-in-hand with the Costume Institute’s spring 2025 exhibit “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” Anna arrived in a custom Louis Vuitton silver floor-length gown adorned with an embroidered floral pattern. She completed the look with a light blue coat that also fell to the floor. She accessorized the look with a large blue jeweled brooch, layered necklaces and completed the ensemble with her sleek signature bob. (See all the stars at the Met Gala here.)
Although there have been rumors over the years that the 75-year-old has had a say in the outfits of all the attendees, she revealed that she’s only worried about her own looks for the evening. However, she is willing to give a helping hand if needed. After all, she’s been a permanent co-chair at the event since 1999.
“Many call and ask our advice, so we try and help some of them as best we can,” Anna shared on Good Morning America earlier this month. “Some, no idea.”
A few of those who have come to her for this year’s event? The 2025 co-chairs Colman Domingo, A$AP Rocky and Pharrell Williams. While fellow co-chair Lewis Hamilton and honorary co-chair LeBron James didn’t seek any advice, she knows they’ll do this year’s theme justice.
Of Colman’s look—which he also teased to E! News will be “epic” and will be “playing” with history—Anna told GMA, “It was a clever idea.”
“Pharrell and Rocky have both described to me what they’re wearing and it sounds perfect,” she explained. “Lewis, I’m not sure I entirely believe him, says he doesn’t have a picture, but it’s great. I trust Lewis. Lewis totally knows what he’s doing.”
As for Anna’s biggest tip for anyone attending the coveted gala? As she told Vogue in 2019, “Be very careful to wear comfortable shoes and ones that fit—maybe not comfortable but at least ones that fit.”
