Bad Bunny may be taking the bullet train to the Latin Grammy stage.

The 31-year-old leads the list of 2025 Latin Grammy Award nominations, with a total of 12. Bad Bunny has not one but two tracks—”Baile Inolvidable” and “DtMF”—that are up for both Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

The Latin Recording Academy’s nominees list, revealed Sept. 17, also includes the rapper (real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) in categories such as Album of the Year for Debí Tirar Más Fotos, which translates to “I Should Have Taken More Photos.” And he’s previously shared how that mentality came to be.

“I remember back in time photos used to be something very special,” Bad Bunny told The New York Times in an interview published in January of the album’s meaning. “Today you can take a picture of everything. Maybe sometimes I don’t want a picture with someone for many reasons: Maybe I’m not in my best mood. Sometimes I feel that maybe this person is not a real fan.”

He continued, “And also because maybe I got used to it and it’s not a special moment for me. But for them, maybe it is and the person wants to save that moment. So that’s the meaning of the title—you should appreciate more the moments and the people.”

But beyond the title, the album is a love letter to his native Puerto Rico, where he recorded the album—and even utilized young artists.

“I’ve been saying, like, what is the purpose of me being here, in this position? What’s next? You die and that’s it. There’s no, like, ‘Oh you were the most streamed artist’ — so what?” Bad Bunny explained. “I was thinking on that and said, “I should do something where I can plant a seed.” I said, “Bro, that is the purpose—to give young people an opportunity to showcase the rhythms of Puerto Rico.”

Beyond his dozen nominations at the Nov. 13 ceremony at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, his frequent collaborator Édgar Barrera picked up an impressive 10 nominations.

Joining him with that number of accolades are CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, who also pull double nominee duty in the Record of the Year and Song of the Year with their tracks “El Día del Amigo” and “#Tetas.”

Other major 2025 Latin Grammys nominees include Natalia Lafourcade and Karol G, who are both nominated for Record of the Year and several other awards, as well as Shakira, who is up for Best Pop Song for “Soltera.”
