Watch:2025 BAFTA Awards Red Carpet Fashion: Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande & More Stunning Looks

Some stars are leaving London with a dazzling trophy in hand.

After all, the 2025 British Academy Film Awards kicked off on Sunday, Feb. 16, at the Royal Festival Hall to honor the best and brightest in film with the help of two-time host David Tennant.

Conclave led the nominations pack with 12 nods, while Emilia Pérez received 11, with Zoe Saldaña—winning an award for her supporting role. The Brutalist was honored with nine and Anora, Dune: Part Two and Wicked earned seven each.

Although it was a night for winning trophies, it was also one for fashion. Indeed, celebs like Wicked costars Ariana Grande and Cynthia ErivoSelena GomezDemi Moore and Saoirse Ronandressed to impress for London’s biggest night in film.

However, two familiar faces were absent: Kate Middleton and Prince William, who had attended the event in the past.

As for what we can expect when it comes to winners? David, who also hosted the event last year, admitted that it’s anyone’s game.

“I think it’s quite an open field currently,” the Doctor Who alum—who has three BAFTAs under his belt—told The Hollywood Reporter earlier this month. “It’s quite hard to know who the runners and riders are.”

It’s especially exciting as the BAFTAs have become somewhat of a signal for who may win at the Academy Awards next month.

“It’s become number two to the Oscars,” David added. “We’re definitely still outright for the Oscars, but I think it’s right up there. Certainly, last year felt like a dry run for what happened at the Oscars. It feels significant.”
